Lubricate the ProPoint Marking Head regularly
The ProPoint marking head contains sophisticated mechanisms
that position and fire the stylus pin hundreds or thousands of times per
mark. Although these mechanisms require very little maintenance, completely
neglecting maintenance can create headaches. No matter how little marking
you are doing, you should always re-lubricate the ProPoint marking head
at least once every six months. For intense applications, you may want
to lubricate it as often as every two weeks. The service kit, which includes
all the necessary lubricants and tools, is Matthews part no. Z0311-502-ST
for the model 2324 ProPoint or Matthews part no. Z0311-507-ST for the
model 2342. Service kits are also available for other ProPoint models.
