and the intricacy of the design. The character size determines the mask
thickness. The smallest character available is 1/16". While Matthews

individual marking needs and applications in accordance with type of machine
ordered will make the final determination of mask size and thickness.
This long lasting quality provides an extremely low cost per impression.
The Airgrit mold is precisely engraved assuring you a consistent quality
mark from mask to mask. A convenient reorder number is assigned when this
master mold is produced. Identical masks can be ordered quickly and easily.
Although Matthews owns this mold, unless otherwise specified, it will
only be used to produce masks for one customer.
Standard
Characters
Matthews
has designed a stencil style gothic alphabet exclusively for Airgrit applications.
The layout and position of the "stay" provide optimum readability
and maximum mask life.
Artwork
Almost
all artwork must be slightly modified in order to make a premium quality
Airgrit impression. Matthews highly skilled artists are experienced and
qualified to take your Logo or Trademark and prepare them for engraving
into master patterns. When ordering a new mask, Matthews recommends using
our standard gothic character when possible. For trademarks, choose simplified
versions and send quality enlarged, "camera ready" artwork reproduced
on photographic paper. This not only saves time and money, it assures
the closest reproduction of your original artwork.
Inserts
Some
information on a mask is only used one time. Date and batch codes fall
into this category. Since the legend itself will be used for years to
come, Matthews can recommend an insert of up to 8 characters at a reduced
preparation cost. This is recommended for large quantities of mask. It
is not suitable for interchangeable information as it can destroy the
masters.
