Industries is a premium manufacturer of residential and commercial heating
and air conditioning equipment. They are recognized as the leader in high-efficiency
comfort conditioning.
The Marshalltown,
Iowa location required a new portion of their gas furnace manufacturing
process to become automated. With help from Matthews International, a
superior part marking system was developed. Lennox needed to permanently
mark their metal orifices with measurement codes. The measurements on
these orifices provided a way to match the correct orifice size to the
appropriate furnaces.
 The
Pro-Point Model 2324, Programmable Indenting Machine, was integrated with
a bowl feeding system--designed by Innovative Design. The bowl feeding
apparatus delivers the orifices to the Pro-Point. The complete system
prints, releases and sends the marked orifices into holding bins. With
help from Matthews indenting machine, Lennox now marks one orifice every
three seconds. This is a vast improvement over the manual system employed
by Lennox prior to incorporating the Pro-Point system.
Matthews Pro-Point
is an economical, reliable solution for product identification, quality
control and traceability marking applications. Microprocessor controlled,
the Pro-Point fires a single carbide-tipped stylus to form legible dot
matrix characters. The Pro-Point is a rugged, programmable system for
permanently marking batch codes, part numbers, serial numbers, date and
time codes and other variable information on a wide variety of hard metal
surfaces.
