New ZONELINK™ Control System From Holjeron
Reduces Overall Cost of Powered Roller Conveyors;
Matthews Ink-Jet Systems For Flexibility and Easy Integration
Chicago, IL, January 9, 2005 – Holjeron’s new ZoneLink™ technology for connecting powered roller control zones in conveyor systems is being demonstrated at the ProMat 2005 Show in booth #1881 at McCormick Place January 10-13, 2005. This innovative technology makes it possible to reduce the total cost of conveyor systems significantly because it requires less installation time, less field wiring and less cabling. Holjeron is a wholly owned subsidiary of Matthews International.
In the same booth, Matthews Marking Products Division is demonstrating two ink-jet marking/printing solutions offering maximum printing flexibility, touch screen ease-of-use and simple integration into material handling systems: the I-Mark™ V80 and V80i, the latter specifically designed for OEMs.

ZoneLink comprises four different products, which may be mixed and matched like building blocks in a material handling system to meet specific application requirements:
Driver Modules drive and protect motorized rollers and have no additional control logic. Most include connections for the zone sensor, reducing the need for sensor inputs on remote I/O.
ZPA Modules have built-in logic to perform single zone Zero Pressure Accumulation (ZPA) and may or may not directly drive a motorized roller. They also include connectors for zone sensors.
Controllers are designed to be combined with Driver Modules to perform multi-zone ZPA or combined with ZPA Modules to do merges, diverts and transfers. Controllers may also have a network connection for linking ZoneLink systems to a host controller.
Interfaces tie systems and equipment together but don’t do any direct zone control. They may be used with ZPA modules for infeed or outfeed control, for example.
“Powered roller conveyors in general offer lower maintenance and repair than belt conveyors,” explains Peter Shumway, Holjeron’s Material Handling Industry Manager. “Our ZoneLink technology helps save even more on total conveyor system costs – saving more than any other competing method of connecting control zones.”

| I-Mark™ V80 and V80i controllers for ink-jet marking |
Matthews I-Mark™ V80 and V80i controllers are the only controllers for marking systems that provide individual control over the printing attributes of multiple printheads. One controller can drive as many as 8 printheads, each producing different size, font, or type of ink-jet marking.
While the I-Mark V80 is intended for an application end user (complete with Windows-based touch screen), the V80i was designed for OEMs or those users building their own integrated systems. It is available either as a raw controller board, with or without enclosure, or as a complete standalone system with Windows CE touch-screen interface, keyboard, enclosure and other options. The V80i provides a broad range of connectivity options between Matthews own Drop-on-Demand™ printheads and many other devices, such as PCs. A setup utility kit with graphics-oriented user interface is optionally available.
