Laser Marking Systems Provide
Flexible & Economical Coding Solutions
Pittsburgh,
Pennsylvania, June, 27, 2001, -- Matthews
International Corporation introduces four new laser marking systems for
permanent and consistent marking. The new systems offer high speed coding
of several lines of text matching the performance requirements of the
world's fastest production lines. These systems produce superior quality
marks for precision bar codes, texts, and identification marks including
complex logos.
Some
universal features of the new laser product line include creative design
capability, easy creation of messages, high speed marking, low cost reliable
operation, practically maintenance free and environmentally friendly to
operate with no consumables.
Matthews offers
two styles of laser systems; a Scanning Laser and a Dynamic Laser. Scanning
lasers operate by steering a single beam with two galvanometric mirrors
essentially drawing with a single beam of light. A dynamic laser prints
in a dot matrix pattern with 18 dots top to bottom allowing for one, two
or three lines of marking.
CO2 and YAG
systems have the ability to mark static products or on-the-fly in fast
production lines. The CO2 laser is used for soft materials such as paper,
wood, light plastics, leather, painted metals, glass and ceramics. The
YAG laser is used for reflective surfaces or hard materials such as steel,
aluminum, titanium, glass and plastics.
What follows
are some features that are unique to each of the lasers. These systems
offer clear, hi-resolution marking and creative design capabilities. The
Dynamark7 laser system comes remote control operation that allows the
operator to control the marking process of one or more lasers from a hand-held
terminal. The Halley 3 dot matrix laser coder enables you to solve very
complex marking problems because of its high speed coding and solid-state
technology with no moving parts to guarantee trouble-free operation. The
Scriptmark, Dynamark and Halley 3 are all CO2 lasers. The Linemark YAG
laser system can mark on a wide range of materials and obtains excellent
results even on highly reflective surfaces. It also features a highly
compact design that enables installation on production lines where space
is a problem.
