Matthews Introduces a Broad Range of New Marking Solutions at FABTECH

Chicago, Illinois, November 2003, -- Matthews International is demonstrating several new marking products for the first time at its booth (#23047) during the FABTECH International Show in Chicago, November 16 - 19, 2003. Among these is the new I-Mark™ V80, an easy to use, touch-screen controlled ink-jet printing system. Also new are: the recently released R44 Controller, DOD 5400 and S.C.I. F.I. 3400, with improved, windows-style interface and an additional quick-command panel and the ProPoint 2331 stylus indent marking system.

New I-Mark V80 EZ Touch

The I-Mark EZ Touch V80 controller is the newest addition to the Matthews I-Mark family of intelligent coding solutions. This system is comprised of a full color, easy-to-use touch screen interface and has the ability to independently control up to 8 printheads or 64 valves.

Built on the powerful Windows CE platform, programming messages into the V80 is extremely simple with WYSIWYG representation of the printed mark displayed on screen. Printer setup and message editing can be achieved in less than a minute, reducing operator
stress on the production line. Additionally,
the V80 will revolutionize ink-jet coding as it sets a new standard.

New Windows-style software for
S.C.I. F.I.™3400, DOD 5400 and R44 controllers

Ease of use has been greatly enhanced by the new Windows-style software being demonstrated on three of Matthews' best-selling controllers at Pack Expo: the Small Character Ink-Jet For Industry™ (S.C.I. F.I.) 3400, the Drop-on-Demand™ (DOD) 5400 for large character ink-jet marking and the R44 Controller for mixing small and large characters using Matthews DOD technology. The new software features pull-down menus, a large display with easy-to-read characters, help key on every screen for every function, shortcuts to frequently used tools and the ability to create personalized program favorites.

ProPoint 2331 With Industrial Touch-Screen Interface

The new Model 2331 has been enhanced to be Matthews easiest ProPoint stylus marking system to date. Originally released with a hand-held pc, we have upgraded this system to control from a touch-screen interface. Its large 4.5" x 3.5" screen makes message file creation and editing simple. Our software even includes a unique print preview feature that allows a user to preview an entire print message exactly as it will look, before marking a substrate.
