Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, March 2004- Matthews International
has the introduction of its new AXIJET ink-jet printing solution.
Designed for low maintenance logo marking, the new AXIJET introduces
an innovative solution for ink-jet printing on units of lumber,
OSB and other wood products. Application and solution driven, this
system can be easily adjusted to adapt to each customer's needs
with necessary modifications for stroke length, height and more.
Adjustable speed capabilities enable slow to fast marking of stationary
products.
Controlled by a simple, color touch-screen interface, the system
achieves marking by utilizing an automated, traversing arm which
travels across the X- and Y- axis to carry one or more mounted printheads
across a stack of material or large product. As the printhead is
traversed across the substrate, a portion of the logo is printed.
Through a series of multiple passes, the moving arm completes the
logo message.
Eliminating typical messiness associated with traditional paint
booths and stenciling stations, the AXIJET possesses the ability
to integrate into existing automated processes. This unique marking
accessory complements Matthews existing
Jet-A-Mark® system including the S.C.I. F.I.™ 3400, DOD
5400, and R44.
Now, even multi-color printing is made easier with the ability to
register multiple printheads together with our custom-fit logoplates
and modular ink management systems. An optional Z-axis feature will
allow users to automatically increase or decrease the print distance
for stacked marking of irregular or shifted products.
