Offers New Anilox Roll Option
For Superior Printing Results
With All Offset And Direct Printer Marking Models
.Pittsburgh,
Pennsylvania, December 2004 - Matthews International Corporation,
producer of a diverse line of marking systems for packaging, production
control and manufacturing of all types, is now offering its customers
for all offset and direct printer models a new, exclusive Anilox Roll
option. This new roll will be useful for customers requiring repetitive
printing on flat, coiled and structural steel, web-print packaging, plastic
pipe, rubber hose and tires, architectural glass, and similar products.
Providing more consistent ink film transfer, the Matthews Anilox Roll
option makes quick and easy impression adjustments, which produce superior
color and print fidelity. The company states that it is the only manufacturer
that incorporates a special cell opening-to-wall ratio which provides
its Anilox printing rolls with this advantageous surface geometry.
Key benefits realized by the Matthews developed
Anilox roll surface pattern geometry are:
· Significantly
increased doctor blade life
· Easier and faster printing impression adjustments
· Excellent ink release
· Higher achievable densities in process printing
· More consistent ink film
· Smoother and cleaner solids, cleaner reverses, and sharper edges
Matthews states,
"This is the first anilox surface technology that works in correlation
to the color strength or densities you desire. For instance, if your current
roll is printing too light or too heavy by 10% for a certain job, you
can get a reconditioned or new one with an adjusted volume that we guarantee
will meet your color target." The improvement is made possible by
the 60° hexagon pattern design, which has added 15% more cells per
square inch over other cell patterns. It permits designing cells that
are 15% shallower and delivers amounts of ink providing better ink release
and easier cleaning.
This anilox roll enhancement applies specifically to Matthews Print-A-Mark®
Direct Printers and Offset printing systems, which are designed for continuous
printing on web material and many other substrates.
