New Indenting Solutions With ProPoint™

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, February 2, 2001, -- Matthews International Corporation introduces its next generation in indenting marking systems with upgrades and enhancements for the Pro·Point 2324 machine. Four new options provide customers with the appropriate Pro·Point for their applications: Automatic Tag Feeding, Hand-Held Marking, Double Air Solenoid With Larger Stylus and the CAD Interface Software.

The Model 2324 Pro·Point fires a single solid carbide stylus to form legible characters in sizes from 1/32" to 2" in two different fonts (Gothic and Dot-Matrix). The unit offers straight line printing at any angle (0-360 degrees) and radial printing for circular parts.

The rugged industrial construction and small footprint of the Model 2324 Pro·Point make it perfect for any production line. It can be mounted on its optional Bench Top Base for stand alone operation or with brackets for in-line marking applications. Custom part fixtures are available with the Base. Using an optional multiplexor, the RS-232 interface gives the flexibility to operate multiple units while downloading custom logos and graphics to the controller. Graphics files can be downloaded as a .pcx file, or can be created using the controller's built-in logo editor.

The model 2324 Pro·Point with Automatic Tag Feeder option will feed, mark and eject metal tags (2"H X 4"W) from a magazine that is located under the Pro·Point Marking Head. A maximum of 225 tags can be loaded and automatically fed, marked and ejected with no operator interface.

The Hand held marking option allows for remote marking of large metal or plastic parts. The machine features: Hand Grips with Electronic Trigger Switch Marking Activation, Adjustable Height Legs and Nonskid Pads which prevent movement of the unit while marking.

The Pro·Point with Double Air Solenoid and Larger Stylus Option allows for deeper part marking in metals and plastics. This option is excellent in marking hard metals (Maximum 50 Rockwell C) and cast or rough surfaces.

The Model 2324 Pro·Point with CAD Interface Software Option is ideal for creating custom logos, graphics, text and printing this information onto parts. This application is ideal for customers wanting to mark parts with their company logo.
