Matthews
Introduces New Etching System At the NGA 2001 Exhibition
Pittsburgh,
Pennsylvania, May 4, 2001 - Matthews
International displayed a variety of advance marking and coding systems
at the National Glass Association (NGA) Show 2001, March 14-16, 2001,
Miami Beach Convention Center, Miami, Florida. Matthews display included
two Airgrit® Etching Machines, Models 7201 Port-A-Grit and 7620, engineered
for marking delicate, yet hard surfaces, such as glass, without fracture
or distortion of the marking.
Operated on
the forced blast principle, both Airgrit models produce a permanent, non-corrosive
"etched" or "frosted" impression on the surface of
flat or round parts by blowing fine abrasive grit through the relieved
portion of a rubber mask.
Unveiled
at this event, the Airgrit 7201 Port-A-Grit™, a compact, portable,
self-contained, bench-top unit, equipped with an electronic timer which
guaranties a consistent, quality, etched mark every time. With a quick
release stencil plate and nesting fixtures to fit the contour of almost
any shaped part, system operation is fast, simple, and reliable.
Other high
performance systems exhibited from Mathews were the CIJ 6200 Ink-Jet printer,
an advance non-contact ink-jet technology that provides near-letter quality
printing of date, use by codes, batch codes, logos - even bar codes. Also
on display was the new Economical CC101 Contact Coder, a printer engineered
for intermittent coding operation.
