Introduces More Versatile Mount-Gun for Efficient Airgrit Etching System
Pittsburgh,
Pennsylvania, May, 2001 - Matthews International
has announced an important new product upgrade of its Model 7650 Airgrit®
Etching System, which is particularly used on glass, plastics, ceramics
and polished metals. Formerly available as a bench top or under the line
mounted unit, the new Model 7650 etching system features an under table
mount gun allowing the unit's canister to be mounted separately from the
gun.
With
a remote gun that can mark an area of 1.75 inches in diameter, the new
system makes machine components accessible for marking without removing
the mount gun from the production line. Matthews' Airgrit System is an
extremely fast marking method using aluminum oxide grit blasted at very
high pressure and applied though a stencil. This produces a frosted or
etched impression in glass, ceramics, plastics, polished metals and other
surfaces. The unit is activated with a foot switch or remote triggering
switch.
By providing
a permanent distinctive mark, the system is ideal for brand recognition,
date and batch codes, traceability, inspection, and instructional markings.
The 7650 is
engineered to mark variable information on flat glass (architectural and
automotive), windows and doors, lenses, plastics, and polished metal products
such as tools, drill bits and chrome plated steels. Newer market applications
include dental instruments, metal hand dryers, and various decorative
glass products. In additional to the new Model 7650, Matthews Airgrit
Etching Systems are available in several larger size units including Models
7001, 7201, and 7205.
