New
Smaller, Compact Printhead
Launched by Matthews Widens Marking Options
Pittsburgh,
Pennsylvania, April 11, 2002, -- A new
7-valve ink-jet printhead giving users small character marking options
has been introduced by Matthews International Corporation's Marking Products
Division.
An
expansion of the S.C.I. F.I. (small character ink-jet for industry) 3200
family introduced two years ago, the new small, compact printhead has
a width and height 75mm and a length of 160.8mm, making it almost as small
as a 28mm standard printhead. This printhead features Matthews Jet-A-Mark's
unique, Drop-on-Demand valve-jet technology.
The new printhead
offers space savings benefits to users such as OEMs, who require a built-in
marking system for their machines. Tests on the new product have demonstrated
that it can print reliably after five idle days without flushing or cleaning,
entailing no startup difficulties.
This product
is a less costly alternative for users needing only one line of text.
The normal product 16-valve (2 lines of text), 7-valve provides the opportunity
to spend less when an application fits. It can print one line of text
and is reliable and durable in industrial environments.
