Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, January 2004 - Offering superior
large-character printing capability, the Jet-A-Mark® DOD 5400
is the newest addition to Matthews International Corporation's comprehensive
line of marking systems. Coding up to five lines of text in 3/16"
to 5" character size, the 5400 offers users a choice of 16
or 3 2-valve printheads and can print text at variable character
heights with greater tilt angles.
Flexibility
The highly flexible ink-jet marking system's built-in network can
link and control 64 units from one keyboard or from a PC, PLC or
mainframe. Printing 1-5 lines can be done on the 5400 at speeds
up to 780 fpm.
Suitable for printing ink on porous and non-porous surfaces, the
5400 provides reliable and clean printing on plastics, metals, packaging,
wood, building materials and galvanized steel, among other surfaces.
It easily creates high-resolution text and graphics with up to 32
valves. Stacked printheads coupled with software produce "Billboard"
style logos.
Capable of operating at temperatures from freezing to 113°F
and 10-95% humidities (non-condensing), the DOD 5400 is reliable
on production lines that face vibration, dust and other production
line challenges.
